
András Zala is the master chef of Geréby Hotel Mansion, who has been responsible for the leading of the kitchen since the opening year 1986. He bus
tled in the kitchen around his mum in his childhood, who was also working as a cook in a factory canteen. There was no doubt at the choice of career that he would become a cook.
After working for some renowned local restaurants, he accepted the job offer of leading the kitchen at the request of László Szélesi, one of the managing directors, to be member of the newly opened Geréby Mansion Hotel’s team. This happened over two decades ago.
He cooked for several celebrities and their weddings, but he considers important that regular and new guests receive the best meals.
During his career he also met strange requests for example when a German guest ordered cheese pancake with chocolate sauce. And what his personal favourite meal is?
- Well, my favourite meal is fried chicken with parsley potatoes, which I prepare from young chicken from a farm and cock goulash with sheep curd noodles. The crucial point is that the cock has grown up pawing free in a farm.
