
Hungarian is an equestrian nation and it is reflected in its traditions. Special programmes are arranged in many Csárda (typical Hungarian country taverns) and stables of the Great Plain, which may let you gain an insight into the everyday activities of former life in the Puszta, betyárs and csikós (the Hungarian horsemen and wranglers). Probably the best-known of them is the traditional horse show which you can take part in at the Geréby Mansion Hotel and Stables.
Horse shows can be ordered with horse carriages and meals combined in a package, which is a magnificent and unforgettable experience for groups. Guests may have an insight into regional horsemen’s lives, they can taste delicious brandy, and they can also have a try how to crack a whip and how to ride a horse. Following a short horse carriage, arriving under the 100-year-old linden tree guests can taste goulash soup from the cauldron, crispy roasted goose leg and milk pie flambé. Of course, there are several other menus to choose from. This programme can be completed with a traditional folklore dance show, while you can buy folklore pieces of arts like table cloths, ceramics in the souvenir shop.
